Advocacy
We work for a common purpose as members of the PTA, the care and protection of our children through securing adequate laws, regulations and policies. In order to achieve this goal the PTA brings critical issues that affect the education, health and welfare of children and youth before the public, policy makers and elected officials.
"The heart of the PTA's mission is advocacy by speaking for every child with one voice. The more voices, the louder the chorus!"
Taking action provides both parents and PTA leaders with the resources to become more involved with their community at home and their community across the nation.
In an effort to keep you more informed on what you can do to advocate for AISD and public school funding, we've created this page with important events and documents outlining ACPTA and TXPTA priorities for the upcoming legislative sessions. We urge you to get involved and contact your local representatives to help keep our schools well-funded and our kids thriving.

WRITE YOUR REPRESENTATIVES
We strongly encourage you to write to your senators and representatives and urge them to fund public school education (not a voucher program) and base Austin's Robin Hood contribution on more recent census data to fund AISD's shortfalls.
