6TH GRADE SOCIAL – FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2010

An event, close to the start of school, given for 6th graders so that they
have an opportunity to get to know one another in a social setting. The event
is a dance with a DJ and concessions. Volunteers will be needed to: sell tickets,
help facilitate the event, work concessions and chaperone during the event.
7TH/8TH GRADE SOCIAL – JANUARY 2011
Chairs: Connie Perrine and Cathy Jones
An event given for 7th and 8th graders so that they have an opportunity to gather in a social setting. The event is a dance with a DJ and concessions. Volunteers will be needed to: sell tickets,
help facilitate the event, work concessions and chaperone during the event.

A celebration, in November, during school hours, for all of the students and faculty to share. It is a small carnival of sorts with games and concessions. Teachers, with the help of students and volunteer, create their own booth. Volunteers are needed to: sell tickets, help facilitate the event, work concessions and booths. All proceeds go to the various needs of the teachers.
PTA REFLECTIONS ART PROGRAM – OCTOBER – NOVEMBER
Coordinator: OPEN
Student entries are gathered and labeled and judged. Specific rules apply
and are available. A reception is given to congratulate the winners and to
recognize all of the entries.
LIBRARY BOOK FAIR: - DECEMBER & MAY
Coordinator: Angela Schuckle Looking for Co-Coordinator
Duties include, but are not limited to, working with Librarian on anything
from decorating the library, unpacking Book Fair books, setting up display
shelves, assisting students in finding requested books at the book fair, working
at tables to take money for purchases, help break down display shelves, and
general clean up after book fair.
SPRING SOCIAL - APRIL 8, 2011

An opportunity for all GMS students to socialize, celebrate their hard work, enjoy the fantastic music of a live DJ, a dance contest and have some fun. This is also a chance for outgoing 8th graders to enjoy one of their last middle school socials.
8TH GRADE COMPLETION CELEBRATION - JUNE

A farewell party for the 8th grade class! Volunteers will be needed to help
facilitate the event.
8TH GRADE COMPLETION CEREMONY - JUNE

A ceremony, usually held at the school, to congratulate outgoing 8th graders
and to with them well on their next journey. Volunteers will be needed to help
decorate and facilitate the event.
